All martial arts instructors at JK Lee Black Belt Academy in Milwaukee, WIare trained to ensure that our martial arts classes are safe, effective and fun.
Our martial arts Milwaukee instructors and instructor assistants are all required to complete an intensive martial arts leadership training prior to teaching or assisting in the classroom. During these martial arts training classes, the focus is on more than just teaching martial arts skills. Instructors also learn how to work with all students, tailoring their martial arts teaching methods to fit the individual child. Emphasis is put on encouragement and positive correction.

Our martial arts instructors are committed to teaching the physical skills of martial arts while applying attitude-shaping exercises aimed at bringing out the best character and physical potential in each student. Through weekly martial arts training, instructors advance their own martial art and educational knowledge to become even more effective martial arts teachers.
The Milwaukee Martial Arts instructors are required to maintain their personal level of martial arts knowledge. They are expected to take class on a regular basis and test at least once per year.

Mr. Chan Lee
J.K. Lee’s Brookfield

Mr. Lee, Grandmaster Lee’s son, began his Tae Kwon Do studies at 5 years old. He took over the business aspects of the school after graduating from UW-Madison with a degree in communications in 1995. Mr. Lee is the former Wisconsin state Tae Kwon Do coach and has been featured in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and on CNN. Along with Grandmaster Lee he has trained the Miller Brewing Company staff and many airline pilots and crew after the September 11th attacks.
Miss Chris Lee
J.K. Lee’s Waukesha
3rd Degree Black Belt
Ms. Lee, Grandmaster Lee’s daughter, has been practicing tae kwon do since she was 5 years old. While attending college at UW-Madison, she came home every weekend to teach Tae Kwon Do classes. She has run the Waukesha location since its opening in 1998. She is our most popular female instructors and is head of the J.K. Lee Demonstration team.
Mr. Jin Lee
J.K. Lee’s Pewaukee
4th Degree Black Belt
Mr. Lee, Grandmaster’s nephew, worked for ten years as a DNA engineer before turning over to his Tae Kwon Do career. He had been a student at J.K. Lee’s since 1980 and began as an instructor in January of 2002. His wife and two children, Alex and Matthew, are also J.K. Lee students. Mr. Lee opened the J.K. Lee Pewaukee location in January 2005.
Mr. Jeff Gendelman J.K. Lee Fox Point
2nd Degree Black Belt
Mr. Gendelman began studying martial arts over 35 years ago. He has trained in New York City, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago and Los Angeles and holds advanced ranks in 4 different styles. For the past several years he has devoted himself to daily training in Grandmaster Lee's incomparable Tae Kwon Do curriculum with the goal of becoming a master of Tae Kwon Do. His life experience, teaching credentials and years of instructing children and adults make him uniquely qualified to bring out the best in people. When not at the dojang he enjoys being with his wife and children.

Mr. Paul Hein

Mr. Hein began studying Tae Kwon Do in 1990. He became an instructor in January of 2000. He has managed all of the J.K. Lee's locations and is one of the most knowledgeable instructors on staff. In 2004 he completed his studies in education and in 2005 he became a full time instructor with J. K. Lee's. In his free time Mr. Hein volunteers at summer arts camps and an area church High School.

Master Susan Miller

Master Miller began studying martial arts in 1974.She has trained in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, WashingtonD.C., and Milwaukee, and as a teen competed in Eastern USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico.Despite her varied background, Master Miller has never had as much fun training and teaching as she has at J.K. Lee’s where she has been teaching snd learning since 1990. Master Miller also implemented a Tae Kwon-Do program in the public school system where she works as a School Psychologist. She is impressed with Grandmaster Lee’s wholistic concern for the health and well-being of his students and humbly wishes to continue his work.She is truly interested in Tae Kwon-Do as a tool for bringing out the best in children and for self-improvement in adults.

Mr. Nick Elliott
J.K. Lee’s Germantown

Mr. Elliott began as a Tae Kwon Do student in 1993 and started as a J.K. Lee instructor in the summer of 2003. He has taken first place in each of the 15 tournaments he has competed and aims to one day become a grandmaster himself. In Tae Kwon Do as well as in his personal life, Mr. Elliott strives to make a positive difference in people’s lives and to treat people honestly and fairly. When he is not training for Tae Kwon Do or tournaments, Mr. Elliott enjoys fishing, hunting, playing basketball and spending time with his wife and daughter.
